Father can’t afford school bag, makes one out of raffia string

Education is the most important thing any parents can give to their children. Parents will do anything just to send their children to a decent school so they can have a better future.

However, many children throughout the world can’t go to school due to poverty. Instead, they have to work to support their families.

Some of us, take little things for granted like school supplies and such. Those things could somehow prevent children from getting an education because they can’t afford them.

As a parent, we will do absolutely anything to provide a better future for our children especially in pursuing a good education. Like this one exemplary parent who became viral for his efforts.

When a five year old student, NY Keng from Cambodia started going to a new school. His teacher couldn’t help but notice his backpack. Usually, a simple bag cost around 30000 riels ($7) in their area. And there are parents who are struggling to afford them.

But NY Keng’s father who works as a farmer, decided to save money from buying a school bag and created a much more cheap and eco-friendly option.

Using the last bits of raffia string, he weaved a beautiful blue backpack. Once Suon posted the photos of the school bag, it quickly went viral. People were impressed by the father’s dedication and creativity. “People said that it’s heartwarming, touching, cool and creative father, love this bag,” said the teacher.

Because of these viral photos posted by the teacher, several kind-hearted people offers help to the family. “Few foreigners asked for contact to send him the bags and my school leader already send his contact for them,” said Suon.

As the what most of us say, “Poverty is not hindrance to success”. Being poor will not stop someone in achieving aspirations in life.
