‘Justice is coming’: ‘F9’ trailer gives glimpse of fan-favorite character’s return

The first trailer for the new "Fast & Furious," titled "F9," gave fans plenty of things be excited about — John Cena as Dom's younger brother, crazy stuff non-stop action with cars strapped with a rocket engine and magnet planes, and perhaps most importantly the tease of Hans' return.

The fan-favorite character, played by actor Sung Kang, has long been thought dead, given the events in "The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift." But apparently, he's not.

Hans made a brief appearance in the trailer, embracing Dom (Vin Diesel) before the video cuts to a promise: "Justice is coming."

Prior to this, he has only appeared in the "Fast & Furious" films that were considered to be prequels to "Tokyo Drift." The last one was in "Fast & Furious 6," meaning, following the timeline, that Hans has only really been "dead" in "Furious 7" and "The Fate of the Furious."

In an interview with the Los Angeles Times, Kang said: "It's emotional — it feels like I’m going back to a family reunion."

"F9," expected to premiere this May worldwide, is directed by Justin Lin. It follows Dom as he attempts to save the world by stopping a skilled assassin who also happens to be his brother Jakob (Cena).
