Matteo Guidicelli has been the head topic these past few days after rumors spread about him punching a bodyguard. Thus, his wedding with Sarah Geronimo also became the most trending issue nowadays.

But some may not know what Gianmatteo Fernan Guidicelli‘s background.

He was brought to Manila by his longtime dream of becoming the first-ever Filipino Formula, One driver. It was a dream that he discovered after riding his first ever Go Kart at the age of 11.


At that time, Matteo had his eyes set on the ultimate goal that he spent his teenage years training long and hard at the race tracks. He was also named Karter of the Year three times.

In 2016, the Cebu-based Guidicellis opened a restaurant. Da Gianni currently has two branches, a trattoria in Cebu, plus another, a more modern version in Alabang.

The restaurant is lovingly dedicated to their Italian grandparents whom they affectionately call “Nonno” and “Nonna.”


The family’s first foray into the food industry was Trattoria da Gianni which opened in Cebu in 2015. “It’s a small place, that’s why it’s called trattoria or carinderia.

Guidicelli’s father Gianluca serves as its managing director, and the rest of the family chips in on its day-to-day operations. On his free days, Matteo himself serves customers. Matteo is also a Fernan, one of the biggest clans in Cebu, on his mother’s side.

His mother, Glenna Fernan is the daughter of the late Cebu Provincial Prosecutor Vicente Fernan who, in turn, is the cousin of Marcelo Fernan, the only person in the Philippines to serve as both Chief Justice and Senate President.


Matteo is also the cousin of socialite and designer Mia Arcenas Branellec. Matteo is related with socialite names in Cebu. Their family is truly a big shot.
